Month of Service Learning at HWS

The Month of Service and Learning is off to a great start at Hubbard Woods! Thank you for the many clothing donations and for stepping up to volunteer at the upcoming service projects! Please read below about the school’s upcoming field trip and additional ways to be involved.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!!
Starting on Monday February 6, all classes will sort and quality check the donations we’ve collected over the past three weeks. Volunteers are needed to help with the project. View the schedule and sign-up to help HERE.
Parents are welcome to volunteer during any of the timeslots and are not limited to volunteering alongside their children.
We are in need of parent volunteers to accompany Grades 2-4 at Cradles to Crayons in the city. If you are able, please sign up HERE. You must be signed up through the Sign-Up Genius to attend as a chaperone.
Kindergarten and 1st Grade are going to take part in an in-school service project on February 13, in lieu of the downtown Cradles to Crayons field trip. The school will need additional volunteer support on this day. Parents can sign-up to volunteer HERE.
GRADE 2-4 FIELD TRIP REGISTRATION:
TOMORROW is the deadline to complete registration for the field trip to Cradles to Crayons. It is imperative that you BOTH pre-register your Grade 2-4 student with Cradles to Crayons using the codes below AND complete the digital permission slip sent by your student’s teacher. Please note that, on the Cradles to Crayons website, you must register your child by clicking “NO” to the question of “Are you over 18 years old?” Parent registration alone is not sufficient.
Click HERE for the Registration link and use the codes below:

If you have signed up to chaperone the field trip to Cradles to Crayons, THANK YOU!! The trip would not be possible without you! There is limited capacity, so only chaperones signed up in the Sign-up Genius above may attend. If you are chaperoning, please separately register yourself using the correct registration code above. Chaperones are not riding the buses downtown and will need to provide their own transportation. Carpooling is a great idea!

Learn about South Korea!

As many of you know, World Travelers is a wonderful Hubbard Woods PTO tradition in which we invite our students to learn about other countries while also celebrating the culture of fellow members of our Hubbard Woods community.
Join us, this week, as the Chung Family takes us on a journey to South Korea. The front lobby has been beautifully decorated to highlight important aspects of South Korean geography, language and culture. Additionally, Shihwan Chung has put together a wonderful presentation on South Korea’s history, rich traditions and contributions to industry and pop culture. You can find a link to the presentation here.
There is no need to sign up for World Travelers, as all students will be able to experience South Korea in their classrooms!
Want to join in on the fun at home? Consider these suggestions!
Thank you for joining the travel at home! Any questions? Contact Hubbard Woods PTO.
